Subject: Fortified biscuits


Hello - I'm wondering if there is an international standard for the composition (particularly of micronutrients) for fortified biscuits that are to be distributed in emergency situations to populations with mild or moderate malnutrition. Is the Nutriset GBG biscuit considered such a standard?

I know of two general standards for High-Energy Biscuits:


- EC standard for Composite Products: see directive EN/06/97/24110100.W00

In short:

per 100 g:

(please change required amounts of vitamin B12, folic acid and iodine from milligrams to micrograms!)
