NATIONAL HEALTH ADVISOR, LUANDA, ANGOLA,
GRADE 3, £22,065 pa PLUS £2,535 PA ADDITIONAL FOOD ALLOWANCE.
Contract is available immediately till end of January 2002. (approx. 10 month) Post status is dependent on actual period in post.
You will ensure the successful implementation of SC UK's health programme work in Angola - the quality of its impact and the centrality of children to its approach. Within the context of growing organisational commitment to child rights-based programming, the National Health Advisor will fulfil the following functions:
You must be a senior health professional with substantial proven experience in health management and public health programmes in middle or low income countries. Relevant post-graduate qualification public health, health management together with experience of working with government counterparts in the Ministry of Health. Relevant experience, especially at national level, a distinct advantage. Other skills required would be strong analytical skills, programme development and reporting with a flexible, independent attitude to work and working conditions. You must be a versatile communicator and have experience providing technical advice to operational teams.
Fluency in Portuguese and English desirable.
